Switzerland has many awesome ski resort. Therefore, it’s quite challenging to choose the perfect location for the next ski trip. Well, this list might help. I have picked for you five ski resort for different needs and preferences.

Aletsch Arena – a family affair

On the edge of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Great Aletsch Glacier the three destinations Riederalp, Bettmeralp, Fiesch-Eggishorn offer a uniquely cool location for families. From snowsport school, easy to demanding slopes, winter hiking and snowshoe trails to breathtaking views – they have it all!

Davos Klosters – a royal story

In between the urban Davos and the idyllic Klosters is quite a constras. In Klosters you might spot some royal guest and Davos has lots of events to offer. They share one of the oldest history of winter tourism in Switzerland. Parsenn links Klosters with Davos and is one of this classic skiing mountain with endless descents and wide slopes. Perfect for the sporty guest.

Mürren – hideaway for 007 agents

The Mürren-Schilthorn region is the smallest and least known of the three ski areas around the famous Jungfraujoch. In my opinion it is also the one with the most stunning views of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau from the Schilthorn – famous out of the James Bond Movie „On Her Majesty’s Secret Service“.

Zermatt – Foodies heaven

I guess you all agree that skiing face to face with Switzerland’s most famous mountain is a mind-blowing experience. Skiing in Zermatt means also that you never hit one slopes twice as there are so many places to explore. But, Zermatt is also a gourmet-paradise. Some of the best restaurants are located just next to the slopes. Make sure to check out Chez Vrony, Findlerhof, Stafelalp, Paradies and Cervo for Après Ski to only name a few.

Laax – for the cool guys

You want to ski where the cool kids are? Well, no problem. Laax is the freestyle mecca in the alps and hosts top events like the Burton European Open. In the new superpipe at the NoName Park you may also spot some olympic medal winners like Iouri Podladtchikov.
